![]() ![]() I really enjoyed the Pacific white-sides dolphin display. There were plenty of displays to see at almost every turn. We took an elevator up to the Main Level after that. After we entered the aquarium on the Ground Level, our tickets were scanned almost immediately. Unfortunately for us, the weather wasn’t too friendly. Before the entrance, there were strips of parking spots available that weren’t highly expensive. This aquarium was relatively close to me, for being what it is. Once I completed the purchase online, I was given an E-Ticket with my tickets on a scannable code that displayed the date and time for my visit. They had me choose a date and specific time to visit, so you should be aware of that! I chose 9 am for our visit, so we can get in early in the day. It was $85.90 for both of our tickets together, so it wasn’t cheap. I booked tickets for my significant other and I on their website. I wish there were days or hours for adults only: I like learning anything just like when I was at Uni. Despite being mid week, the place had lots of screaming kids, pushing you aside and misbehaving - I wonder if they learned anything? These screams give me lots of headaches and dizziness, no wonder I was left rather sick later on. Positively, there are lots of varieties of fish to see well structured in tanks depending what area of the planet they come from, besides massive tanks with beluga whales, sharks, alligators, rays, a naughty sea lion and a very small area with penguins (even London zoo has a larger area for penguins). She then looked at the person on my right (who chose not to join the queue behind me) and pushed me aside as if there is no Covid still around. I am very good at reading maps and retaining info, I do not need her to repeat herself and tell me things I am not interested in, but just to answer a question. I asked this girl to advise me on how many levels are to plan our visit, as she kept re-emphasising several times, the map on display 'is for me only, you have to download your own map on your phone'. with the exception of the girl (around 5'9 tall, chestnut long-ish hair, mid '20s - around 11am on May 24th 2023) at the information desk who was very rude and sarcastic to me, the rest of the staff was nice and friendly. inside, the building needs a good lick of paint, as opposed to Corpus Christi aquarium which looked amazing several areas to eat inside the building, however everything looks old, lots of screaming kids everywhere and parents sitting like not caring - you cannot really have a meal with all these screams near you, right? Even reduced entry tickets purchased weeks in advance for ourselves were around 25 USD - everything is rather pricey While the car park belonged to the City of Chicago, it was across the road from the aquarium - Corpus Christi aquarium we saw a few weeks ago charged only 5 USD for example. parking: around 25 USD in a car park which was full even mid week, before lunch. In order to understand my logic, I will draw some similarities with similar places around USA and the world: However I give low marks on this occasion, even though I still recommend to visit this place, if there is no similar aquarium in your area. Normally I give top marks to such places, purely because you can learn so much, even as an adult. ![]()
